Below is a tabulation of all the local scholarships that are given out by the Fullerton Public Schools or various community groups and individuals. These applications will each have separate applications and deadlines. Please feel free to ask Mrs. Wetovick any questions you may have during this process! Remember, the only way you can earn a scholarship is if you apply!

Nebraska 4-H SCHOLARSHIP

The Nebraska 4-H Foundation offers 4-H members the opportunity to apply for scholarships. The Nebraska 4-H Foundation awards up to $22,000 worth of scholarships each year to 4-H’ers from across the state.
To apply for scholarships, 4-H’ers must submit the Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application for state-level review by January 15th. Youth must follow the application instructions available on the Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application webpage. If applying for multiple scholarships, only one Achievement Application should be submitted. An applicant must select the scholarship to which he/she feels qualified.
4-H youth may want to visit with the Extension Office in their county and the financial aid office at the college of their choice. There may be other grants, scholarships, or low-interest loans for which they may be eligible.

The applicant should be enrolled in any a post-secondary (trade school, community college, college or university) institution the immediate semester following high school graduation. - Recommendations from individuals of the applicants choice attesting to the applicant’s character. Preferably there will be at least one from a member of the school staff and two from individuals outside the school staff who know the applicant in his/her community.
- A written statement of purpose as to what the applicant’s future aspirations are and how the applicant anticipates reaching these goals.
- A brief written explanation of your ties to the Fullerton or Belgrade area.

Preference in award will be given to the study of Speech, Theatre, Debate, English, or the education field.

- The Nance County 4‐H Council Scholarship shall be offered to graduating seniors of Nance County high schools who are planning to further their education.
- This scholarship will be offered annually up to $500. The amount and number of scholarships awarded will be at the discretion of the 4‐H Council. Funds for the scholarship will be derived from the 4‐H Council.
- An alternate, if available, will be named to receive the scholarship should the recipient not enroll and attend classes within one year of graduation from high school, decline the scholarship, or become ineligible.
- The recipient and alternate will be announced at Nance County 4‐H Achievement. The scholarship committee reserves the right not to offer the scholarship should the applicants prove to be unworthy.

MARILYN NISSEN NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
DUE: MARCH 25th
ELIGIBILITY: High school seniors who have been accepted to/or who have the intent of applying to an accredited nursing program are eligible to apply. They must also be a resident of the Albion, Bartlett, Belgrade, Cedar Rapids, Elgin, Ericson, Fullerton, Greeley, Lindsay, Newman Grove, Petersburg, Primrose, Spalding or St. Edward community.
AMOUNT: Two scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $250 or $500 to two separate graduating high school seniors. Students with the intent of enrolling in an accredited nursing program will be eligible for $250. Students who have been accepted in an accredited nursing program will be eligible for $500. The scholarship money is payable in full directly to the college. Proof of enrollment must be provided to BCHC Foundation no later than August 1st unless the school runs on a non-traditional cycle.

Requirements:
1. The student must be accepted in an accredited program of higher education and provide a copy of their current college transcript.
2. High school seniors please provide current high school transcripts. The student must be a descendant of a Genoa U.S. Indian School student and able to provide documentation of such.
3. The student must express an interest in the history of the Genoa Indian School.
Purpose: The Native American students who attended the Genoa U.S. Indian School from 1884 to 1934 contributed to the history of Genoa, the state of Nebraska, and the United States through their presence, language, and culture. In recognition of the contributions of these students, the Genoa U.S. Indian School Foundation and the children of Dale and Alice Wolfe (Dale was a former student) annually offer a $2,000.00 college scholarship to a descendant of a former Genoa Indian School student. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis and is paid directly to the college or university of the recipient. The scholarship recipient must provide evidence of class registration at which time the funds will be released and credited to the student’s school account.
